Hosting a website

TecCheck -

For quite some time now I wanted to have my own little website and domain to test and tinker. Then just recently I found Dominic Szablewski's blog and his content delivery system Pagenode. It seemed perfect for hosting a simple website with nginx on a vps, just as I wanted. The way pagenode works - essentially just a PHP website - allowed for easy usage with git, a nice bonus. While discovering all this, a friend of mine told me about a cheap server deal: 1€ per month for a quite capable vps.

Setup

So here we are. This website is hosted on a 1€ 1blu.de server running Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS, nginx, PHP and serving content using Pagenode. I'm pushing changes to the site via git over ssh. At this point I'm not sure if this setup will prove itself or not, but I'm quite positive that it will. I'm stil experimenting with css to make the site look good. Anyway I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

What's next?

I hope to occasionally write about the things I do to just put it out and to improve my writing skills as I think they do need some improvement :D

I've got a few older projects I want to write about in the future, but it remains to be seen if I will...
